This Web Page shows some results
from one of my "COLOR" researchs namely Image-to-Cross-Stitch Mapping which
is supported by Chulalongkorn University.
The final product from this research is a program that can convert images
to cross-stitch maps.
We (my students, RA, and
I) have explored many color models, several software products and have
done a lot of experiments for this project. At present, we came up
with using RGB color model for our color matching process. The color
difference (or distance) is calculated based on the RGB color model from
the equation

+ (G1-G2)2
+(B1-B2)2
)1/2.
The thread base used in our research are the 390 colors of the DMC company.
