Research is considered done only when it is published. Publishing helps
to ensure that the work has been reviewed by peers. This process is a
long and difficult one. Knowing how the review process works is
important. This talk will highlight the followings:
Why publish?
How the review process work
How to write a good paper
What is the quality of research
Examples from real works will be given. Discussion on various aspect of
research is encouraged.
Prabhas Chongstitvatana is a professor in the department of computer
engineering, Chulalongkorn University. He earned B.Eng. in Electrical
Engineering from Kasetsart University, Thailand in 1980 and Ph.D. from the
department of artificial intelligence, Edinburgh University, U.K. in 1992.
His research involves robotics, evolutionary computation, computer
architecture, bioinformatics and grid computing. He is the lifetime
member of Thailand Engineering Institute, Thai Academy of Science and
Technology, Thai Robotics Society, Thai Embedded System Association and
IEEE Robotics and Automation Society. Presently, he is the president of
ECTI Association of Thailand. He has been awarded "National Distinguished
Researcher" by National Research Council of Thailand in 2009.
